Before you read this, realize that writing your own bio is actually a fuckload harder than it sounds. You have to sound factual without being self-depreciating or having too big an ego. Keep that in mind yeah?

Sure, you look at that photo of me and you go "What the fuck is that boy on?" Well, in that photo, the answer for most part is an enticing mixture of caffeine, alcohol and green zooper dooper. Yes, my name is Nick Lucas and I am a caffeine addict. Trying to communicate me on a bad morning when I am low on caffeine is an extremely bad career move. I talk about drinking a lot, but don't get the impression that I'm an alcoholic. I'm a social drinker who is just incredibly sociable, will drink just about anything. We're talking even the spirits that noone will touch, like Gin. That explains the above photo (at least, that's my excuse.)

Besides that, I have many charming points; I tend to open my mouth without really thinking about what is going to come out of it, which makes for mass awkwardness at times, and occasionally, lots of laughs. I tend to like talking, even about shit, and often throw in a decent amount of sarcasm\cynicism which tends to make people who don't know me unsure as to whether I am being serious or not. This lets me say a lot of stuff that other people might not get away with. People often tell me to get my mind out of the gutter, I can’t help it; it’s attached to the rest of my body. I maintain that I'm actually a very charming and suave guy, if I was born in the 1950's.

Under that strange sarcastic exterior, I guess I am a geek at heart, I read books, real books and my brain is pickled in poetry. I spend a lot of time in web space either blogging or on MSN. I play guitar; both acoustic and electric, and enjoy doing so in front of people, no matter how bad I sound. I even dabble some as far as song writing goes. My jet black Greg Bennet signature acoustic has taken a pounding over the years, and is suitably messed up, and my latest addition, a Fender Stratocaster in three colour sunburst has certainly received a workout. My small musical background gives me an appreciation for most varied different types of music, with the only genres I genuinely cant stand are shitty rap and R'n'b, so sue me. I have a love for movies, both old and classy (think "The Great Escape", "MASH"), Violent and senseless (like "Face Off", "The Rock" and anything with Governor Arnie) as well as mind-blowing and confusticating (In the ballpark of "Adaptation" or "Eternal sunshine for the spotless mind"). Also in my movie collection, I unashamedly have the romantic comedy "When Harry Met Sally" just because it is one of my favourite all time movies. As far as sitting on my couch and watching TV goes, I am an avid fan of old shows such as M*A*S*H which I love like a child. I also had, once upon a time, a penchant for the X-files (You know, the old episodes, before the show got shit) Under that geekish internal exterior (oooh! Oxymoron), there is another; soft sensitive and vulnerable me. Underneath that of course is public parking.

Education wise, I studied under the IB diploma programmme for 2 years. Graduated and moved on to bigger and better things. Currently I am studying Forensic and Analytical Chemistry at Flinders University (when I turn up, the course sounds more exciting than it actually is)

Despite my seemingly immoral exterior, I have principles! I refuse to use the internet shorthand "Lol" just because it looks and sounds stupid. I am also NOT Italian, and hence try to avoid being trendy by ending conversations with "Ciao" and refer to wine as "vino". (Not that I have anything against Italians, some of my best friends are Italian). In the past people have accused me of being racist, sexist, ageist and the rest of it. It might seem that way, but its not true. I don't hate any minorities or community groups. I hate idiots. And that's the bottom line. I'm also not terribly fond of smokers. Not in the way you think, again, some of my best friends are smokers, but they respect the fact that I don't like it and don’t smoke near me. Problem solved. I don’t care what people do with their lives, just what they do with mine.
